COMPUTER SKILLS FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS
This course covers basic computer skills to get you started including an introduction to the Internet, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Candidates who have very little experience with computers can learn the basics in this class. The goal of this course is to illustrate how important computers are in modern society and their value in solving problems. Fundamental operations and functions of the computer will be covered. Specific topics include the use of software applications, the Internet, basic computer functions and the proper identification of computer hardware components.
DEVELOPING OFFICE SKILLS
For people who have basic computer skills. Provides an introduction to Excel and Word, and continues to develop your PowerPoint skills. It is an introduction to the computing skills needed to work in an office. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is extremely important when searching for a new job. Many employers expect job seekers to have a basic understanding of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This class typically covers the basics of how to set up a document, use a spreadsheet and create a presentation.
INTERNET NAVIGATION/ WEB BROWSER COMMUNICATION
Candidates enrolled in this course will learn how to successfully navigate the Internet. Some of the topics include cloud computing, advanced search techniques, travel planning, social networking, blogging, bookmarking and how to defend against various types of malware, such as viruses and worms.
BUSINESS SOFTWARE COURSE
This course introduces computer softwares commonly used in business today. Training includes using softwares to create reports, organize data, and perform few accounting tasks. Advanced classes focus on MS Excel software and database management for tracking inventory, managing payrolls, and providing critical data to business marketing departments.
WORD PROCESSING COURSE
Students learn basic and advanced word processing skills such as spell checking, formatting text, and differing file types. Individuals learn to prepare business documents; including reports, letters, and forms. Advanced training may include an introduction to desktop publishing.
DESKTOP PUBLISHING COURSE
Participants examine the use of computer hardware and software to create print publications such as newsletters, marketing materials, business reports, forms, and financial documents. Candidates also learn how to create, edit, build and customize information for databases.
DATABASE MANAGEMENT COURSE
This course covers the use of spreadsheet application, such as Microsoft Excel, in everyday business situations. Candidates learn to create charts that make sense of raw data and present it in an understandable format. Programs teach the use of formulas and functions to tabulate data for real-time analysis. Classes present database development and customization skills to teach students how to build information management systems that are adaptable to business needs.

It is intended to empower learners to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to operate confidently in the End User Computing environment.
